About Coles Sheds

How Everything Came Together

Cole’s Sheds started when I had a crazy idea to build a shed in my backyard and try to sell it, even though I had no carpentry experience. Luckily, my father thought it was a great idea and helped me get started. He had all the tools and experience, which made a huge difference.

Once I finished my first shed, everything started to get easier. I began to understand carpentry a lot more, and I was able to sell that first shed. I delivered it on a rented trailer from Johnson’s True Value. My dad and I hauled it all the way up to Lincoln.

Getting my first paycheck felt great, and I used that money to pay for materials to build an even bigger and better shed. After taking a summer building, I bought a 24x8.5 hydraulic trailer so I could deliver sheds more easily.

Later on, my dad bought a piece of land in Pembroke, and he let me use part of it to build sheds instead of working out of my parents’ backyard. We brought in gravel and set up a proper area to work. My aunt also made me a big sign to put out front, which helped bring in more business.

I want to thank everyone who has helped me get this far, especially my dad. He has supported me through this whole journey and helped me more than I can say.

Moose rescued after falling into well in Maine

It was Wednesday, and I left school early to go to work. I was building a shed for a customer. I had been there for about two hours when I kept hearing crashing noises in the woods. At first, I didn’t think much of it because there are always sounds out there.

But then the crashes started sounding really close, like only 10 feet away. I looked over and saw what I thought was a moose shed (antlers that had fallen off). I walked a little closer, and then I saw the antlers move. That’s when I knew something wasn’t right.

I climbed up a ladder to get a better look, and it looked like a moose was lying down, possibly injured. I didn’t want to disturb it, so I went back to work. A little later, my dad pulled in, and I told him about it. We decided to check it out, but stayed at a distance because it didn’t seem safe.

I went back to work, and he left. As he was driving down the road, he got a better view of the moose, pulled over, and walked into the woods. That’s when he realized the moose had actually fallen into a huge hole in the ground.

We went back to the hole together, and when the moose saw us, it started freaking out. Right away, we called the game wardens. They sent a biologist who sedated the moose, and then the wardens put straps on it. Using an excavator, they carefully lifted the moose out of the 9-foot-deep hole.

This is the video I got from where I was and what I could see
